Origin Story of the community art box in front of ReMarket

The make and take newsstand started as an idea by Zach Scheffler. He originally placed

it outside the passport agency, hoping to surprise passersby with a sudden burst of

inspiration. Unfortunately, the location lacked the right kind of foot traffic. The box sat

mostly unnoticed, its creative potential waiting to be unlocked.

ReMarket had been actively searching for an old, repurposed newsstand box. When they

heard about the one in front of the passport agency, they approached Zach with a

proposal. The box needed an environment that already celebrated creativity and

community. ReMarket offered to move the box, take full responsibility for its upkeep,

and adopt it as ReMarket’s own.
